Mock, sandbox and live modes

What it is for

EstateSaleExchange talks to outside services for payments, email, signing, maps and audit checkpoints. Each one runs in an explicit mode so nobody is surprised by a real charge or a real email.

What you enter

Modes are set by the deployment's configuration, not inside the app.

What you get

A banner at the top of the screen whenever any service is not live. Mock means nothing is sent; sandbox means provider test accounts; live means real effects.

Example

"Stripe: sandbox · Resend: mock" means test payments work but no email leaves the system.

Common problems and how to recover

An email or payment did not happen.

Check the banner. In mock or sandbox mode the action is recorded but has no outside effect. This is expected in development and staging.

Who can use it

Visible to every signed-in user; the banner never shows credentials.
